Kamenetz and Almond Want You Vulnerable and Defenseless

Dear Patriot,

If there was ever a time to “cling to our guns” — as Barack Obama called it — that time is now.

Why?

Because County Executive Kevin Kamenetz and Councilwoman Vicki Almond…

…want to fully disarm innocent citizens in our county parks, allowing criminals to have their way with us!

The horrific terror attack in Orlando showed:

• Big government can’t and won’t protect you.

• Gun free zones are not a solution to gun violence.

• Background checks don’t work.

• A “good guy with a gun” is your best defense.

But of course, gun grabbing leftist politicians won’t let the facts get in the way of using every opportunity to take away your ability to defend yourself.

We all know the Second Amendment protects our right to keep and bear arms in our defense.

But that’s not stopping Kamenetz and Almond from pushing Bill no. 42-16, which doubles down on keeping our county parks as gun free zones.

Proposed Section 30-1-201(a)(3) of the Bill reiterates that “a person may not… carry, or possess, a firearm on park property.”

But that’s not all.

Proposed Section 30-1-201(b)(c)(1) prohibits possession of bows, darts, knives, or any other “dangerous” weapon.

That’s right, if this bill passes you can no longer bring a knife into county parks!

This clearly shows that liberals like Kamenetz and Almond won’t be satisfied until you are completely vulnerable and defenseless.

When was the last time you visited a county park and saw police?

Parks are often isolated from outside help.

Parks are exactly the place where we can’t rely on government to protect us.

To be clear, guns are ALREADY banned in county parks, punishable by a civil fine.

That wasn’t good enough for Kamenetz and Almond.

But, it gets worse.

If you violate the provisions of this new bill — even by accident — you could face criminal charges, 90 days in jail, and a $1,000.00 fine (Section 30-1-301(a)(1)).

How crazy is that?

Why would Kevin Kamenetz and Vicki Almond want to disarm citizens of Baltimore county where they are perhaps the most vulnerable?!

Make no mistake — public parks are the perfect testing grounds for big government regulations.

If we do not stand up and stop this bill, politicians will continue the march toward disarming the public.

Friend, we must hold politicians accountable, especially on victim disarmament bills like Bill no. 42-16.

But we don’t have a lot of time.

This bill will be discussed at the June 28, 2016 Work Session at 2 p.m.

The final reading and vote is on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 6 p.m.

Campaign for Liberty in Baltimore County has made this Bill its number one priority.

We need your help to beat this bill and put County Executive Kevin Kamenetz, Councilwoman Vicki Almond, and enemies of the Second Amendment on the run.

Help us beat Bill 42-16 like we beat the local Rain Tax and rising speed camera fines!

EXAMPLE EMAIL

Dear (Kevin Kamenetz/Councilperson),

In light of the events in Orlando, Florida, I demand that you amend Bill 42-16 to eliminate ALL weapon bans. Now is the time to take a stand against disarming citizens, not to pass legislation that defies common sense. I was shocked to learn that Bill no. 42-16 criminalizes lawful and constitutionally protected self-defense by criminalizing LAWFULLY OWNED knives and guns in county parks. When was the last time you visited a county park and saw police? Parks are often isolated from outside help. Parks are exactly the place where our self-defense rights must be exercised. Do not support weapons bans in Bill no. 42-16. Campaign for Liberty will inform me and regularly remind me if you decide to vote incorrectly on these issues.

Regards,

— Concerned citizen

And finally, please share this email with like-minded friends and family.

With your help, we can prevent the incremental loss of our ability to protect ourselves in Baltimore County.

In Liberty,

Baltimore County Campaign for Liberty

P.S. County Executive Kevin Kamenetz and Vicki Almond want to leave us defenseless against criminals.

They have proposed making all weapon possession illegal in county parks! If you fight back against an armed assailant with anything except your bare hands, Kamenetz and Almond want to subject you to fines of up to $1000 and up to 90 days in jail!

Demand they amend Bill 42-16 to undo all weapon bans in county parks and defend the Second Amendment!
